O6ycPtbFai- RPG Codex October 22, 2015Īutoduel was a top-down, open world RPG that allowed players to customize their own weaponized cars and either use them in arena combat, deliver packages, or just hunt down scum on the highways and take their stuff. RPG Codex spotted a trademark filing by inXile for Autoduel, and it's unlikely it's the aborted David Jaffe indie game that itself was a spiritual successor to Twisted Metal. The indie studio has already produced Wasteland 2 and is currently working on Torment: Tides of Numenera (a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment) and The Bard's Tale, Now, it seems they have their sights set on Autoduel. I'll be glad to help you learn the ropes. It seems that Brian Fargo and inXile may be exhuming another classic roleplaying game for development. You can find me and my friend on there as Loendal and Felimed (My gang is the Big C Rollers, his is Mandelbots). The creators of Darkwind know all about Autoduel, Car Wars and all the other Cars-With-Guns games and they've created what I believe to be the best Car Wars game online. I suggest you head to and check out Darkwind! It's what Autoduel could have been if the technology were available then. I've seen alot of posts in here saying "I wish they'd remake this" or "They should do an updated version!". The roads were always really dangerous to me, and I had trouble getting from city to city but when I did, it was to the next Arena event I qualified for I'd go. I'd spend hours at a time fighting in the arenas. I played this game to death when I had it on my Commodore 64. You may need to restart a couple times if the poker tables go badly, but it usually works without requiring too much time. Oh, and don't forget to buy some body armor! Then get back on the bus to New York and go experiment with car builds, which you can then take into the arena or go hunting bandits outside town to build your prestige so you can then do AADA courier runs or other missions. More than that will see your funds get slapped down by the IRS the instant you leave the Casino (I think it's 900k+, but I could be wrong. Gamble at the Poker tables until you have about 850,000 in cash. Go get on the bus to Philadelphia, then to Atlantic City. You cannot get salvage from amateur nights.Īlso, the quickest way to dial up your cash to start with? Don't buy a car.

I always drive the arena in a counterclockwise circle. Perhaps you're not driving enough of the arena to find the last couple opponents. If I remember right - and it's been a whlie since I've played this last - there's at least 5 cars you have to destroy. How do I win amateur night? I have destroyed three cars (they're "out of commission"), can't find any more opponents, but when I leave the arena, I get the message that I lost - too bad, maybe next time etc. Can I get salvage from amateur night at the Arena?Ģ. I've read through the "manual" that is linked to from this thread, but I still can't figure out a couple of things:ġ.
